World’s End – Horton Plains

hortanplain2The most popular tourist attraction in Horton Plains national park is World’s End that is a vertical cliff with 870 m drop. World’s End is situated at the northern end of the national park. There is also Lesser World’s End with 270 m drop located closer to World’s End.

Tourists can take a walk on their own along the designated trail with a 4 km walk to World’s end, and returning back passing through the Baker’s falls. Best time to go on a trail is early morning around 6 AM from Nuwara Eliya to reach World’s end by 7:30-8 AM and get spectacular view of the area. Post 10 AM the weather becomes misty and there is not much to view for travellers. Travellers should avoid the trip on weekend as the area is overcrowded by locals.
