Victoria Park, located at the centre of Nuwara Eliya to the extent of 27 acres, is an attractive and well-used oasis popular among birdwatchers for large number of rare bird species like Indian Blue Robin, Pled Thrush or Scaly Thrush and Kashmir Flycatcher. It is said that this Victoria park was established by planting an Oak tree by a German Princess who visited Nuwara Eliya in the late 19th Century. About 90% of the tree species available in Victoria park are those of foreign plants. During the month of March – May and August-September, some special flower can be seen in the park.
