Royal Palace

The Royal Palace, built by Parakramabahu I in 12 th century, is an impressive seven storied building with palatial rooms, audience halls, and chambers famous for its fine stone carvings and timber work. Audience Hall and Kumara Pokuna (Royal Bathing Pool) are main tourists attraction of the Royal Palace. Around the hall and central edifice is a gallery containing 40 small chambers or rooms.
