Knuckle range, spread over an area of 90 square miles, is a detached block of the central highlands separated from the main highlands by the Dumbara Valley. Knuckle range’s forest trails are the most suitable for trekking for tourists in Sri Lanka. There are 35 peaks of about 3000 feet height in the Knuckles range. It has a rich variety of flora and fauna. Knuckles Mountain Range declared as a world heritage tourism site by UNESCO at the world heritage conference in Brazil on 31 of July 2010.
