Colombo Fort

Built during the periods of Portuguese and Dutch, the Fort of Colombo is now a major commercial center of the country that houses major offices, big hotels, shops, airline offices, banks, main post office, immigration office, travel agencies and restaurants. Sri Lanka’s own twin towers stand in this area. The main landmarks of the Fort are – the Presidential Secretariat, the Lighthouse Clock Tower, the Grand Oriental Hotel, five-star Hilton, Ceylon Continental and Galadari hotels. The largest and one of the busiest ports in Sri Lanka, is also located here.
