Tourists will find Bundala national park as a unique combination of beaches, lagoons, sand dunes and scrubby forests with thousands of colorful birds. Bundala has been recognized under the Ramsar convention on Wetlands. The area is also visited by migratory birds that visit Sri Lanka as far from as Siberia and Rann of Kutch in India. Bundala also has small population of elephants, sambhur, leopards, giant squirrels, civets and large number of crocodiles.
